Do I need SetCPU with Cyanogenmod 7?

Sorry if this has been asked already, but I just flashed Cyanogenmod 7 RC 2 to my Droid 1 this morning. I downloaded and enabled SetCPU out of habit because that's what I've always used, but then when I was browsing through all the awesome Cyanogenmod settings, I noticed there is already settings for the CPU governer which is exactly what SetCPU is doing. So do I really need SetCPU? Should I just uninstall it? Or so those settings only show up once you install SetCPU?

    THANKS

OK cool. I don't use multiple profiles. I usually just keep mine on "On Demand" with a max of 800 and a min of 225 and that seems to work great for me.

OK well I guess I'll Uninstall SetCPU.

    THANKS

Does Cyanogenmod 7 throttle the CPU down to the minimum when screen is off?

That isn't a function of CM7. That is a function of the governor you have selected. If you use onDemand and you don't have a lot of background tasks running it, the OS will slow down to the lowest speed you have selected.
Facts are the very first casuality of bad information.

I like to think that settings within CM7, such as the ones control the governor function, are a part of CM7.

Since the function I am talking about is part of the governor, and CM7 does not switch governors, it does not seem so without manually switching governors. So as I understand it CM7 has settings (ondemand) that will lower to the CPU speed to minimum, but won't KEEP it to minimum like a profile in setCPU will (with a "Screen Off" profile), if I have something running in the background that could affect it.

Personally I used to use ondemand but have been running "interactive" for a couple months now.

I wonder if having profiles is worth keeping setCPU running in the background. I think the best feature of setCPU is switching to powersave when battery or CPU temperature goes above a specified level.
