Excuse my ignorance but sholes is for the droid, correct? If so, what are the diffrences between b18, 19, n 20??

Yes sholes is droid. The numbers mean builld numbers. The bigger the number the newest and best.

This installed fine on CWM 2.5.0.1.

how do i flash the recovery image?

One last novice question, is it necessary I also install the md5sum download?

Download it to your sd card.

Open terminal

Su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/<insert recovery name here>.img
Reboot recovery

Of course, drop the < > when typing it into the terminal.

i looked in md5sum and i didnt see anything there.
