Actually, my extender is a Wilson amp, not a network card. I use the ##program menu to make the changes to my vocodes. As long as the network selection is borked, I ain't gonna be messing with this hack.
And in case anyone has not followed the more lengthy XDA thread, it appears that one gent actually tore deeper into the throttle calls in the services.jar. As one would expect, there is at least one other service that makes calls to these deleted files. The phone.apk.......
As this person reminded folks, this hack to delete these 7 files is pretty harsh in that no one appears to have run all of the services back through the apks to see what else might be trying to use these files. certainly the Network selection. Who knows what else
I've been having such crappy 3G signal I thought anything was better than what I was getting. 4 bars and it'll drop off so I have no 3G. Try doing that every 20 seconds. Now, if you think you're used to that, try doing that every 10. Now imagine your phone's radio locking up and requiring a reboot to get to it working 3x daily. That's what I've been dealing with for the past two weeks. Since doing this hack it's only gotten worse.
So, yeah, I'm going to go reinstall either 6.1.2 stable or 226 -- depends on if I want the faster unlock from the rotary screen or a theme.
winner00's zip causes bootloops for me on nightly 226
