Why does it still go to 188.8.131.52 when I flash from Rom manager? If I flash manually then it uses the new version.
I cannot get the custom recovery to flash. I keep getting "flash image not found".
Any help? I know I'm typing it right... It's on the root of my SDcard.
Check to see that the flash_image binary is in /sytem/bin. At least that is where mine is located. In terminal,
This should return a useage string, and will at least let the others here who can help better than me confirm you have the working binary file. You could be missing the binary file or perhaps have a pathing error of which I am lost with linux.
Thanks Craig, however when I type in "flash_image help" it returns the same response:
flash_image not found
I have USB debugging on as well - forgot to mention that earlier.
Really want to get this flashed so I can put some GB on!
Well if a search of /system/bin and /system/xbin do not show a file called
no extension, then that will be the first problem. Trying to execute a command that does not exist. I am not sure whether this file could exist anywhere else in system, but traditionaly for these commands to work they have to be in either location.
I looked in system/bin and system/xbin and I do not have a file called "flash_image" - I only have the cwm3 recovery image that I downloaded from the forum. Do I need to rename this?
You are over my head at this point. Given the serious changes that are happening to recovery with this 3. version of CWRecovery, I would not even begin to make a suggestion that involves flashing recovery. If the recovery image gets borked in any way, I think we would be talking sbf to get back to functioning. Please bear in mind that neither the new recovery nor the posted CM 7 appear to be official just yet on the CM website, so there is some potential thin ice going on here.
