Protected Apps missing in CM 6.1.2

This a lot of work and the info seems to be outdated. Can anyone confirm if this does work.

I've read through the tutorial and done some more research and it appears the fingerprint in my build.prop file is correct. I'm going to get ahold of a friend's stock droid and do a file compare on their build.prop file vs. my build.prop file. I will post back with my findings.

I was unable to get ahold of a correct build.prop file for my droid but I loaded a new ROM (non Cyan) and that ended up fixing my build.prop file and the protected apps started showing up in the Market again. I didn't realize each ROM altered the build.prop file but apparently so. I'm still learning this stuff so maybe there's something I'm missing but at least i got my apps back.

Same issue, on moto droid, I did not do a wipe data however I did use titaniun back up pro. Missing several apps.

I have been working on this all day so far.


I have a Motorola Droid


Here is what I have done/found out:

I wiped my SD card, cleared Data/Cache and installed the CM 6.1.2 that I downloaded from the site (not from rom manager.)

Once that loaded up, I pulled out the build.prop file using ADB.

This is my "fingerprint" line:

ro.build.fingerprint=verizon/voles/sholes/sholes:2.2.1/FRG83D/75603:user/release-keys

I then borrowed a colleague's Droid (I am at work). He is running stock Android 2.2.1. The fingerprint lines matched exactly.

So...I am not sure what else to do. I have tried wiping and re-flashing several times, but I can never see any protected apps in the Market. I haven't been able to get a "new" Market app to install yet, but I didn't think that would be preventing me from seeing apps at all. They don't even come up on search.

Anyone else have the protected app issue, and found a way to fix it?

Update: I flashed 6.1.0 stable, and all market apps are showing up fine.

Update2: Woot! After flashing to 6.1.0, I then flashed (for about the 13th time in the last 2 days) to 6.1.2. Apps showed up in Market!!!

I was then able to install the *new* market app described in this thread

So, for anyone having problems: For me, I could not get this to work until I flashed the 6.1.0 ROM, and then flashed 6.1.2 over it (no wipes).

After you flashed 6.1, did you download any protected apps before you flashed to 6.2?
