Voice Search will not install

I had no problem download and installing the latest google Voice Search from the market without deleting the old Voice Search apk. After it installed I did delete the old Voice Search apk in /system/app and moved the new Voice Search apk in /data/app to /system/app

i had to delete 2 apks in /system/app before it would install on my nephews phone, they were voicesearch.apk and VoiceSearch.apk. not sure why there was 2 but either way it worked.

I think this is what you're referring to -- in terminal, use VoiceSearch.apk and com.google.android.voicesearch instead of the ChromeToPhone items:

su
sysrw
busybox rm system/app/ChromeToPhone.apk
cd system/bin
sh pm uninstall com.google.android.apps.chrometophone
cd..
cd..
sysro

I am not sure why and have been searching a bit for the answer (I might just go ahead and reinstall Sapphire again after this) Voice commands are not working, just search. I cannot "navigate to" "send text to" "send email to" or anything, it all comes up as a search in Google, how do I go about getting it to obey!

Could be the new google voice search / voice actions not working as you had hoped. Doesn't do much for me... lol but works ok I guess. Anyhow, check out the official google online demo and info in this blog: Google Voice Search

Did it the ?hard? way. Went and reflashed Sapphire 1.0 and installed Voice Search first thing. Works fine now, all commands being recognized and such.
