Won't sync google contacts. help!

OMG! Just happened to me also. I put Sapphire on without a wipe and everything was good except Gem setting F/C...So i wiped data and Cache and reinstalled Sapphire. Now all I have is stock Sapphire with root but cannot sync google, no apps, nothing....Im freaking out....Can someone help me out of this!!!!!
I dont even have a market app so i cannot go get Titanium backup to get my stuff back HELP!!!

you never ran a backup before with Rom manager?

UPDATE. So still no luck with Sapphire. I really hope they fix this problem because that was a kick ass rom.

But anyway I just flashed a new rom... Buggless beast to get me by till they fix this problem. Gmail, contacts, calender all synced up just fine with BB. So the problem definitely lies within the Rom of Sapphire. I'm going to email the developer tomorrow and see if he knows about this problem.

How do i install a backup Ive had? I reboot into recovery then install what? I have several backups through Rom Manager...

when you boot into recovery, scroll down to "nandroid" not "install". then click on restore and then click on the backup you want your phone to be flashed back to. hope that helps.

Okay it is not a bug with sapphire. For some reason you have to manually set up the sync with google. To do this (and I had to do this so I know it works)


Go to Settings > Accounts & Sync > there you will see:

Background data........... box with a check
Auto-sync....................box with a check

then you will see

Facebook (if you have it)
Twitter (if you have it)
dlwh....@gmail.com

click on your gmail account, another window opens and you will see:

Sync Contacts................box
Sync Gmail ....................box
Sync Calendar.................box

Make sure all three boxes are checked. Once you check all three or whatever ones are not checked google will sync and your contacts and calendar will pull over to your phone.

I had to do this with not only my phone but my husbands as well so I know the options are there and it will work.

yeah, i dont know whats going on but none of those options are available. Trust me, I have pushed every buttons there is. Every rom I have installed I have had to Manually re sync google, contacts, calender, facebook etc. I know how to do it. But this rom or something just doesn't' give those options on my phone for some reason .

I noticed the same problem today. I went to add a new contact and noticed it said Phone Only (unsynced) so I was like what the? I tried everything to get it to sync and nothing. I finally just had to roll back to my last backup which is a Jrummy ROM. Everything worked great on there. I flashed the ROM and BAM all my programs, contacts, everything sync'd like magic like it is supposed to. I don't know what the problem is. I run an exchange email account on mine Droid as well if that makes a difference. The only contacts I had were the ones that I have manually added on my work email which totaled 17 contacts.

Sorry to revive this, but it was really frustrating. I lost all my recent calls, texts, and Gtalk messages. I tried everything I found online. Something is just not quite right here.

Every rom I have installed I have had to Manually re sync google, contacts, calender, facebook etc.

That's unfortunate - I have never heard of anyone else having to do this.

So weird that a few people had this random problem where most of us had no problem...isn't technology grand?

I dont even have my gmail in my accounts/syc page. When I try to add it it wants server infrmation and won connect.
