lol - makina is a bot, that's why you were given a less than friendly reception.

these time stamps indicate you were on pretty early in the morning, I don't know how many of us were around. please do stop in another time especially if you need support, we'll be happy to help.

makina is indeed a bot.

This is a joke related to the video game, Portal. In the game, the enemy computer system GladOS continually reassures the player that there will be cake at the end of their training, but it ends up that the cake is a lie. This had become somewhat a common joke around the internet.

The chatroom mimics that joke in that Chanserv sends an entry message stating to stay awhile and that there will be cake, to which makina PMs the user on entry "The cake is a lie! O.O"

I am sorry if you felt that you got a less-than-acceptable welcome, as technically all of the actual OPs were asleep at that point (the only human ops in the channel are myself and sniffle). Please stop by again sometime, and hopefully there are no hard feelings
