It looks like you've taken the right step by contacting sales - I sent you a PM with details just to be sure.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S Android phone and, my bad, I assumed that outlook sync was a given on any phone these days. NOT. I pulled a copy of Samsung Kies (from Canada) and used that for a while, but it's not supported for US and VERY buggy (if you can get it installed). Companionlink was recommended by many people for a seamless outlook sync for both contacts and calendar - a MUST HAVE for me!
The trial seemed to work great! about 30 days after I purchased I started having issues with the synchronization of the "sync" between the android and the computer - sometimes it would finish, sometimes it wouldn't VERY buggy as to if the synchronization was working, or not. I'm using it through USB.
I started noticing that I had all kinds of duplicate contacts in outlook, but still kept on using it. THEN, all the sudden, I went to sync and when I went back to look at my contact in Outlook everything is hopelessly scrambled - all my contacts have random email address from other contacts, mixed phone numbers, etc. - it is a MESS and is going to take me months to sort through. Called support - yes, I was livid. You know what they told me? That it was an issue with the merge in the Droid phone, and I would see some contacts merged in outlook if I merged them in the phone. NOT the case - my contacts are SCRAMBLED - Joe Smith has got Jane Doe's phone number and Joe Blow's email address... Then they said that it could be an issue because I didn't turn off the auto google sync with the default contact list in the Phone.
Ok, enough rant, bottom line:
If you choose to use companionlink because you were stupid like me and both a Samsung Droid phone without ensuring that it had outlook sync, and you can't find anything better:
1. SAVE YOUR OUTLOOK CONTACT FILE before you sync with the droid using companionlink
2. I would keep either outlook or android as your master and only make changes/additions in one or the other, that way you can do a push-sync and minimize possibilities for corruption (or easily fix it if it corrupts)
3. Turn off auto sync with google for both calendar and contacts on the phone - I also ran into huge issues with the google calendar sync, but that is for another day...
Good luck!
Three months later and Companionlink is still incredibly buggy - records don't transfer, get deleted. Clearly worst software product I ever purchased.
I see version 3 still on website - I assume that's for people that "can't live with the pain and problems of version 4" ?
Should I go back ?
