Gmail update from market fails to install

I got an update for Gmail (automatically through the market), but the install fails. Anyone else seeing the same thing? Is it because a newer version is bundled with SS 4.8?

uninstall using titanium, reboot, and then install from the market.

It is because there is already a gmail in system/app but chances are the one bundled with 4.8 is the newest version and the Market is showing an update anyways--check the version number of the update in the market and the one installed on the device

As someone else said uninstalling the system/app gmail and rebooting will allow the market gmail to properly install

4.8 does come with the latest gmail app. And when I look in market, gmail is shown as installed. So its synced with the market. Try clearing data for market and see if that gets rid of the update notification for gmail app.
