Chevy,
I'm having redraws and am willing to try the other launcher, but I want to be clear on what you want us to try. You say push, do you mean we have to do it with ADB, or can we just copy the apk in via something like root explorer?
Is android SDK really that hard to use? I mean most people (I would think) used it to at least initially root their phone...
So you've already got the drivers on your computer...
... But I would think just like any other apk you could do the same routine you would in Root Explorer if you must...

JBPruitt,
I've never used the SDK, so I can't say one way or the other if it is difficult to use. I used RSDLite to root my phone, running from a virtual Windows7 instance using a trial version of Windows that is now expired, so I was seeing if there were other options so that I could use to give Chevy some feedback quickly.
Chevy,
Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a shot and let you know what happens.
Chevy,
I did the replacement via Root Explorer, but haven't seen an improvement using the new launcher2.apk. I still get a very serious lag in redrawing when changing orientation. Copying it in changed permissions, but I reset them to 775 to be as permissive as possible.
