    Darn, no free Droid.

'Grats on getting it to work. I feel sorry for the people who can't get their Droids to clock higher than stock -- and I've seen it happen at least once. I saw someone ask a Dev for some LV 600MHz kernels on a thread back when I was first looking at o/c and rooting my Droid. I can't remember if he ever got his wish, but I'm glad I never had that issue!

So, the moral is, anyone on the fence about trying one of Chevy's excellent kernels should just pull the trigger and try one. It might work, it might not, but if you feel the need for speed you'll have to try.

It seems that which phones can or can't handle overclocking is completely random. I generally don't buy version 0.1 of anything, but I broke my own rule with the Droid...fell in lust with the damn thing and bought it the day after it came out back in November - I'm now running the rooted FRG01B (thanks, furbearingmammal) and Chevy's 1.1 ULV kernel, and it's running great (though I max it at 1GHz); previously I was running rooted 2.1 with the 1.0GHz kernel, no problems there, either.

    Luck of the draw.
    Galaxy Nexus: CyanogenMod 9-rc0 with Franco's kernel @ 1.35GHz
    OG Droid: CyanogenMod 7.1.0 (2.3.7) with Chevy's 1.1GHz uLV kernel, BP7X battery
Nook Color: CyanogenMod 7.1.0, 1.2GHz kernel

I have been running lv1.2 for a few days without a single problem. I tried going to ulv1.2 this afternoon and things seemed OK for about 15 minutes, but then I had a reboot and a couple of lockups. Back to lv1.2!

I used Chevy's LV 1.1GHz kernel when i was stock rooted 2.1, never had a problem

Now i'm stock froyo rooted. First I tried a p3droid 1.2GHz kernel, and it seemed to work fine. I did notice that the droid eye booted slower than usual (like it was in slow motion), but everything was smooth when i ran it at 700 MHz (which was my normal running speed). But when I pushed it to 1.1GHz to play some resident evil 2, it would reboot after about 5 minutes even though the temp never got that hot.

So I tried a froyo Chevy 1.2GHz kernel and everything is great! The droid eye boots at full speed again, and i can play my psx4droid at 1.1GHz without reboots. Otherwise, I normally run my Droid at 800MHz now. I guess my phone just prefers Chevy kernels to p3droids. Thanks Chevy!

Just switched to medium voltage 1.2, after I realized your 1.0ghz was running better than p3's 1.2

GRRRR!! I want to use SS and a Chevy kernel but my phone won't boot his kernels. I can get whatever BB and Sapphire uses to boot fine. I think those are both lv kernels just one at 800mhz and one at 1ghz. Any suggestions?

    Hmmm, a thought.....

+1, I'm waiting too. I was just thinking about switching to the Droid X. And now I'm not so sure. Because this is, dare I say it, simply stunning.
