Slow USB Speeds after SS 4.4 update

I recently upgraded from stock 2.1 to SS 4.4 because of Verizon's foot dragging getting 2.2 out. Something I've noticed is that transferring files to the SD card is now occurring at usb 1.1 speeds, around 1mbps, instead of usb 2.0 speeds of 10mbps.

Is there something I need to set to get the faster usb settings? Or is this due to something that I did incorrectly?

... that makes sense... lol i was wondering why it would take almost an hour to copy a 2gb image file to my card... it was running at 1.1... hmm

Is nobody else getting this problem, or has no idea how to fix it?

If it truly is transferring at 1.1, then Windows (assuming that's what you are using) should tell you ... I occasionally get that in recovery mode - but never while in Windows, it transfers quickly
