Froyo Kernels - 6-16-2010 - ULV/LV/MV

I now also have built MV kernels for those folks who even struggle with LV - am interested to hear if it helps you or not.

These kernels all have TUN built-in. You will also see links for cifs.ko and ext2.ko if you wish to use those.

trying the mv kernels now, the only problem i had with lv and ulv was downloads are really slow (unless you are on wifi). thanks for all the hard work!

the ext2.ko is a kernel module for mounting ext2 filesystems, which are a type of linux filesystem. i use an ext2 image on my droid so i can run debian on top of android and run debian applications (most notably, the IM client finch). other people use ext2 partitions on their sdcard for swap space and other things. ext2 has been superseded by ext3 and ext4, but they're not working with the froyo kernel at the moment.

the cifs.ko i assume is used to be able to mount windows network filesystems on the droid. that's what the cifs module does on regular linux systems. i haven't tried that because i'm thankfully linux-only at home, so i don't have any cifs shares.

chevy, if cifs.ko is used to mount windows filesystems, have you ever considered trying to compile nfs support for the android kernel for linux/unix shares?

I noticed something interesting today. I decided to try upgrading to the 1.25 GHz ulow voltage kernal for the first time. I hadn't tried before(on 4.0) because the 1.0 ulow was working perfectly and I had no reason. I decided to see if I could get a quadrant core over 1500, just for s's and g's so I applied the 1.25 ulow update.zip. Booted up fine, didn't seem to have any issues, got a 1498 in quandrant, but then I noticed that the wifi wouldn't turn on. I had the Power Control widget on the screen and when i hit the wifi button, it lights up, but not all the way. It turns just a dim blue, while things like GPS and sync are a deep blue.

I went into settings and tried to turn wifi on there as well, and it would try for a second, then it just said error and stopped.

I tried flashing up to 4.1 at thie point(seeing as I was already waist deep in it) but the activation wizard(after wiping) kept force closing. I just reflashed my 4.0 image and am running fine again (on wifi now actually) on the 1.0 GHz ulow, but I was wondering if this had happened to anyone else?

I didn't see this posted at all, so I don't know if I'm the only one who's experienced this. Not a problem at all since 1.0 GHz ulow runs fast and cold on my Droid. Just a curious observation. Any thoughts?
