i think developers should start including a file manager or titanium backup in the ROMs, i don't have any service here, stuck at grandparents and no wireless either. plus they have dialup.... but i can go download the rom at my uncles just didn't want to be crowding my family when im only up for easter.

Do you mean a file mgr like Astro? If so - I'm on the same page, have considered doing that!

Helix Launcher 2 keeps force closing on me. Any ideas whats causing that? Im going to wipe and reinstall and stay away from that option and see what happens.

yup, so i can have an apk of titanium or all my apps when i don't have good service, im having to use the mobile site just so it don't take a decade to load a page and it still takes its time

That would be awesome. I was sitting here with 1xRTT thinking, do I grab Titanium first or set up WiFi? Not absolutely necessary, but would be a nice touch at some point.

Helix2 does not support ese81 right now.

what program do you guys use to pack up the system.tar file that is in the nandroid backup? Reason i ask is that like to unpack the system.zip file (for the update.zip methods) and delete the system .apk files that i don't want so i don't have to worry about doing that once the phone boots up.. The reason i ask is that when i repack them for the "update.zip" files they work just fine but when i repack a system.tar file from a nandroid backup i get an "error 28" in sprecovery and the restore fails.. thanks for the help if you can!

Yea, you can't do that with a nandroid backup, as then you have modified the md5. You're better off to just install it, then remove the apks ...

Chevy I would really like to try out this ROM. I am currently on cyanogen mod and dont have much experience using anything other than clockwork recovery. Can you give me the noob guide on how to install this rom when coming from cyanogen? Is it possible to do it without wiping data?
