[UPDATE] New Kernels - Low Voltage + Medium Voltage - 3/25/2010

The lowV kernels are just rebuilt versions of my kernels from the 'get yer kernels here' thread.
The medV kernels are just rebuilt versions of the kernels listed in my 2.0.3 SS release thread.
My advice to you, in selecting a kernel, is to #1 try the lowV varieties first. Then select the slowest kernel that exceeds what you expect to run on a day to day basis. So if you plan on running 800-1000, run the 1.0lv kernel.
If for some reason you get stuck on the 'M' while booting, first try switching to the mediumV kernel. If that does not work, back the speed down, say from 1.25 to 1.2, or 1.2, to 1.1, etc.
5-slot Low Voltage

1.2Ghz (125/250/550/800/1200)
1.25Ghz (125/250/550/800/1250)
5-slot Medium Voltage

What do I need to rename to update.zip? When I download I get a file folder with 3 things inside. Do I rename the whole folder? And to place in root of SD card, do I just make sure its placed by itself and not in anything? Thanks
-
when downloaded it should be a zip file, do not extract - place on root of sdcard, rename to update.zip, so that it is not in any other folders

ChevyNo1, what are the voltage settings for low and medium? And on the lows is the voltage across each constant or do you slightly ramp them as you get to 1.25Ghz?
Facts are a wonderful thing. They can be proven true or false. Opinions on the other-hand aren't facts and generally get argued to death. I wonder which one is more helpful normally?

I do not have exact voltage #'s as they are not represented that way in code - but I can tell you it is slight ramp up at each slot, approaching to the top.
For lowV, there is no V increase whatsoever on the 1G kernel

Using your LV 1.1 and working good.
Sometimes a "smartphone" is only as smart as its user.

OK renamed file to update.zip and placed in root of SD card. Now what? Just do a reboot?
-
^^
Reboot holding X until recovery screen
Install
Allow update.zip
Install update.zip
this will work with ANY update.zip file

And Chevy, thanks a lot for these. Looking forward to trying them out when I get off of work.
