What program is free that I can use to check my current cpu speed? I'm not sure it's at 1.25 tbh just want to check that the new kernel is working right.

O nvm I had some cash in my account so setcpu is now mine.

7 slot LV 1.2 GHz kernel is running great on BB 0.8.

Too early to tell about long term temps or battery life, but I'm short benching around 160-170 steady at 1.1GHz which is what I was running prior.

Going to bench against the prior kernel running at 1.1GHz for the day, but I'll likely be going full 1.2 in my day-to-day life.

    A free way:

    adb shell cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq

My phone is all stock now (on 2.0.1.), but I am rooted with SP Recovery installed.
    Three questions:

    (1) Can I load any of your kernels even though I'm on 2.0.1?
    (2) Will any of these kernels give me the ability to wifi tether?
    (3) When the official 2.1 Android comes out for the Droid, will by phone still update the way it was meant to update by the manufacturer?

    Thanks in advance

So I downloaded, renamed update.zip and placed it on the SD card, reboot.

Navigate to install, .sdcard/update.zip (deprecated) and no matter if I allow it or not, I get the following:

    --Install from sdcard...
    Finding update package...
    Opening update package...
    Verifying update package...
    E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
    (No such fine or directory)
    Instillation aborted.

I can assure you update.zip is there. What gives?

I tried both the 5 slot low and medium voltage 1.0 kernels. Both would freeze on the Motorola logo when rebooting. Any thoughts?

edit: Im running 2.0.1 and DroidMod. Im guessing that's the problem.

    Chevy,

First, great work on these kernels! The LV ones save me sooo much battery.

However, my wifi seems to be broken since I installed your new kernels. I've tried several (no medium voltage ones yet though) and no luck on any of them. Do you recommend anything as a fix?

    I'm on LV 7 Slot 1.2Ghz and my wi-fi works.... Bugless v0.8

Are you referring to wi-fi or tethering?

Chevy, first off, love your work dude. Always have. Second, I seem to be having some issues with your kernels.

They work flawlessly on several different roms and run very cool. However, once I enable WiFi (Not Tethering), my temp skyrockets and continues to climb until I disable WiFi and reboot. My avg. temp under load is like 102F. With WiFi on, it jumps to 125-132F.

I've tried different slot sizes, LV, MV, etc. Happens to me on all of them. I've tried it on SG 6.0.1, UD 6.8.3, BB 0.9, etc. I was just wondering if you or anyone else has experienced this.

    Thanks.
