Hum...another three crashes. Once pandora and meridian popped up at the same time with force closes but I could not press anything on either. Another one all my icons disappeared after a force close on the gallery app and even after locking and unlocking the phone several times and waiting I couldn't get anything to come up or work.

Going to install the Nandroid restore back to 2.0.2 for now, I'll try updating later using the 2.0.3 nandroid rather than the update.zip to see if that helps.

I updated from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3 using the update.zip. I have been running the 5-slot 1.0ghz kernal and decided to just let this one go at 1.2ghz for a bit and see how it worked out. I had it reboot after about 30 minutes of constant use and then it just started boot looping. I plugged the USB to computer connection in (setcpu charging profile drops to 550mhz) and once the phone was up and running I removed the 2.0.3 update.zip off and moved the 5 slot 1.0ghz kernal to the root and rebooted into recovery and ran the install for that update.zip.

All is well running at 1.0ghz. I think my phone just can't handle that 200mhz extra speed....

im curious about battery use? ive noticed alot of the new 2.1 roms here are great looking and performing however eating up battery.... as well as heating up alot
to me dont matter how fast or neat it is, if bat life cuts down bad its not worth it to me
so anyone know how this one is perfoming with bat life?

my phone with this update is running fine. same as before. just i cant see the names on the facebook widget. its like hard to read

this rom is great on the battery. it really is. i woke up today and took mr. droid off the charger at 11:30. its currently (@7:45 pm) at 60%. this is with frequent use. ie texting and frequent web surfs. and facebook ofcourse! lol. but yeah. i used to have a lot of apps. and i just deleted them all. because the other day my phone would have been dead by now. i had a lot of dalviks or w.e in the logcat. but yeah. its running good. good battery life. i run at 900mhz usually. but not with this kernel.

I've heard the opposite actually. I was running Adam's Smoked glass 4.0, 4.1, and 4.5 at 900mhz and after upgrading to Simply Stunning 2.0.2 running 1.2ghz, I seemed to get slightly better battery life (not that it was bad before) I have however only used it for a few days, and have profiles to set to 550/220 when not using it, but I've always had those.

Android 2.1 in general is way more efficient on battery use compared to Android 2.0.1. On top of that more efficient kernal. I was running the stock Android 2.0.1 and getting a little under a days worth of use. Recently I've been running BBv0.7/0.8 with Chevys 5 Slot 1GHz and I've been getting close to 2 days worth of battery. I'm installing SS2.0.3 now.

I hear that. I had it running at 1.2GHz the first time I switched to SS 2.0.2 but then I restored my bookmarks from a backup, and it restored browser settings to so my browser kept closing after a minute. So I re-flashed SS and OC'd to 1.2GHz yet again, then got constant boot loops for some reason, no idea why. So I had to re-flash yet again, then I just downloaded the 1.0GHz kernel and installed that, and I've been running silky smooth. Still can't figure out why it was boot-looping after going to 1.2GHz after re-flashing to fix the browser. Guess it decided it doesn't like 1.2, it's a smartphone afterall!! Oh well.

This is the problem that I was having, but primarily with weather channel app, and a few random others. I tried clearing cache and data and doing the nandroid several times, and same thing. I went back to the 2.0.2 nandroid, and everything is working smoothly again.
