[2.1 ROM - 1.25Ghz] SS MAJOR Beta ERE25 Build - (3/1/2010)

OK, so this is BETA - which means you likely will find issues. Normally I wouldn't release my ROM this quickly after another, but read below, I believe it warrants it.

All feedback is welcome so I can make this better. This is a complete change for SS, as it now is using the ERE25 build as it's base, rather than Greek's ROM's. This has SEVERAL immediate benefits. The main ones are:

Auto brightness works
KB backlights work when they should, and don't go off after 5 seconds. They also seem to appropriately respond to light/darkness
Keyboard opening does not unlock phone
In-call MUTE works
The haptic feedback isn't outta control like it has been with the 2.1 ROMS - has the nice subtle buzz of 2.0.x

In other words, all of the above appear to work perfectly, just like stock!

Launcher2 (tried Greek's latest version, still locks up on me) is not included.

These to me are HUGE benefits, worthy of creating v2.0.0 of Simply Stunning. I'm sure you'll agree. The kernel had to be completely recompiled as none of mine would boot the phone with this build, apparently no others would either.

So this as usual is an overclock kernel - and wifi / wifi-tether also work, as I've got a proper su and su-app installed as well.

Enjoy! This is a nandroid backup, no data partition. I do suggest doing a full wipe however.

Anyone having issues with bootloops - may be your phone just can't handle the 1.25Ghz kernel. If so, check out my post with other kernel options:

I should also add that I am using the same launcher as AdamZ, so credit goes to him for that. Pretty much the 'thanks list' for anything theme-oriented from my previous SS versions applies here.

NOTE To Rom DEVS: I would ask for two things if you want to use my kernel.

1. Ask me - it's just common courtesy
2. Give credit for a fast ROM where credit is due - the ROM is fast because of the kernel, not what apps you added/removed. That affects space, not speed. In particular, it's fast because the kernel + an app such as SetCPU allows you to overclock.

Yes, but this IS the Simply Stunning version ...

You could always pull the launcher out of the base ere25 build and stuff back in /system/app

Well damn....as soon as I got it on and on the home screen I got a FC from the Market...

And also Chevy, for some reason I can't get JIT turned on. I have an ADB connection...but the on.cmd file will not reboot my phone and turn on JIT.

Is there a newer version of JIT for the Droid out?
