Chevy, huuuuuuuuge thanks for all you do to keep our OG's alive and kicking!!

I have had 5.4 and 5.5 and can't wait to try 5.6... but first a few quick questions to everyone:

In the past after things have started to bog down I have tried to wipe everything and start fresh... but when I do this and sign into the Apps store it only shows 2 or 3 apps (for example titanium is missing). The apps are even listed under my library in the Google Apps store when I access it thru the computer, but not there after the wipe.
When I revert to a Nandroid backup the apps are there again (and thus I re-flash with only wiping cashe/davlick).

Any suggestions? Other possible ways to backup? I'd love to wipe (completely) fresh and try slowly adding apps back in to rule out any other issues.

    Thanks in advance! -mP

Wanted to see how messed up my phone would get, so I flashed it right on top of CyanogenMod Nightly 209. Didn't wipe anything. To my amazement, everything works fine. No bugs to report, running just fine at 1GHz. All apps and settings are still there.

Might be because SS is CM-Based? Or at least it has the CM settings in it.

That's supposed to be there? Haha I thought that was left over from flashing on top of CM. I didn't dare click on it for fear that it would call on some files that SS replaced. I'll go poke around now

I can't remember, but somewhere Chevy said that if you are going to use your own launcher, that you needed to do something regarding his because it will still run in the background. Was it to uninstall his default launcher or to kill it? I can't exactly remember, and I think the post was in one of the stickies of the previous version which I no longer see in the sticky section

Hmm....Two launchers should never run at the same time. Not sure which one of the launchers you are talking about because it includes the default Launcher, Launcher Pro, and the Sony launcher.

If you do want to delete them, which is fine, than you can use a file manager with root like Root Explorer and go to /system/apps and delete the other launchers in there. MAKE SURE that you do not delete the other launchers before installing the preferred launcher as having no launcher will force you to revert to a backup or wipe.

I'm charging up to flash this right now. Awesome work, Chevy! It's been awhile since I've used a Gingerbread ROM. Are people running this stock, or still using the supercharger scripts? Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, chevy did say to remove launcher2 in froyo versions. However, since moving to gingerbread, launcher2 doesn't use any extra resources if left alone (I think). As a previous post mentioned, you can delete launchers you're not using with a root file manager, but it's easier, and possibly more efficient, to use chevy's tools to do so. You can remove system apps via the scripts he's provided. The sony ericcson launcher is in /data/app though, so it can be removed just like a market app through settings>applications>manage applications.

Hmmm, going to have to do a full wipe/install tomorrow. I thought everything was fine, went to run Chevy's task killer script, and memory before/after wasn't matching up with compcache being on or off. It also didn't tell me that compcache was off when it should have (like in previous versions).
