Ss 5.5 gb - 2.3.5 - 8/19/11
This is a discussion on Ss 5.5 gb - 2.3.5 - 8/19/11 within the ChevyNo1 forums, part of the Custom Roms category; I looked in /system/app and CMscreenshot.apk looks the app your looking for. I'm not sure if it can be used as a stand alone app ...

I'm pretty sure it's in the framework. I found that .apk right before your post and tried to install it. Didn't work! Ugh. I was really hoping it was that easy.

Well chevyno1 isn't on too much any more but you could try and send him a pm. It could take a couple of days for a response though. Have you tried moving the apk into /system/app setting permissions and rebooting?

I have tried, but not sure how to set permissions.

If using root explorer, you can long click on the apk, select permissions, then select all the boxes in read and the top one in write. I'm not sure what the terminal emulator command is though.

Thanks for the help...I ended up just cleared everything out three times, and restored the factory settings, and then flashed the rom and everything seems to be working good now.
-
Ok I am new to flashing roms and such...But I flashed my Droid with SS 5.5 and it is using the Kernel that came with it. In the Performance settings I see CPU Settings. In there I see Available Governors, Min CPU frequency, Max CPU frequency, and Set on Boot. I currently have the governor set to ONDEMAND, Min CPU is 250 MHz, Max CPU is 1000 Mhz and set on boot unchecked.
Is that a good way of having the settings? I just want to make sure I have things set correctly to get the best speed and stability.
Thanks and sorry for the newbie questions.

Check on boot, also, you might want to look into getting, set CPU, overclock widget, or a similar app. You can change screen on/off settings with a 3rd party app.

Is it a true battery saver to set 550-250 ondemand when screen is off?
