Reboot stuck after flashing

Before I state my problem, a big THANK YOU to Chevy and everyone else who is offering support here. I have learned a bunch about my OG Droid - much of which I didn't know was possible.

I was attempting to flash the latest SS (my first time flashing) following a writeup by Guidot.

After rebooting I am stuck with the Motorola M. Any suggestions?

Droid, rooted, using SPRecovery, Titanium backup,...

Also:
Tried to be patient. Let sit for 10-12 mins a couple of times with same result
DL'ed another zip file, used mounting options to reload/rename update.zip file, repeated steps referenced above.

Further:
yakitori's install steps were about the same... could my issue be with SPRecovery???

Yes, SPRecovery IS your problem - that is listed in my OP for SS5.4 - you will need to upgrade to either CWR or RZR and you will be good to go. I HOPE to get rid of this limitation in a future release!

One of the main reasons I chose to try your work is because of everyone mentioning how great the support is. And you just supported this decision with the quick reply.

Now hopefully I will not be back with other silly questions...
