Wave secure?

I've been running Ss5.4 since it came out and haven't any glitches except one. I haven't seen any threads on this so I'm gonna go ahead ask ... even though I fear I may already know the answer.

When I attempt to set up WaveSecure it states there is a problem with my SIM.

When I installed SS5.4 I did an overly redundant wipe. I used RzRecovery and wiped every option available atleast four times. (Excessive, I know..)

Am I going to have to wipe data again to get wave secure to be ok with the sim on my phone?

Also .. I already did the clear data in manage applications ..

"A valid sim could not be detected. Please insert a working sim and retry."

I'm not familiar with the app but if the error is referring to a sim card our phones do not have one.

A custom ROM is really a different or at least modified OS. Wave Secure may not be supported by the ROM.

Remember, you build the app for the OS, not the other way around. Maybe Chevy can check it out for you and do a fix.

Mobile Defense and Wave Secure Not Working with latest SS

I apologize, I have no excuse for not having seen that thread earlier.

However, it does not seem that anybody was able to find a solution ... last entry was 5/31/11.

Chevy, any progress on this issue? Or is it basically a non issue?

If people have moved to another security app... what did you go to? I am open to moving to something better.

I didn't post the link as an indictment; just to point you in the right direction! I don't think anyone around here would think you need to apologize when at least you looked before you posted.

As for replacements - maybe you could get better suggestions if you say which features are the most important to you. Lookout may be able to a little bit of what you need (eg locate a lost phone... and also lock and wipe but only if you pay for premium).

What you described is exactly what my need would be ... lock phone. Locate phone. .. wipe phone ....

I'm hoping for a suggestion on an app that has been confirmed to work on ss5.4 . I have tried and dabbled in other roms but always come back to SS.

I can confirm that Lookout (free, non-premium) runs on SS 5.4 though I have not tested locating.

You specifically mention the free non premium version... is that because that's what you have? Or did you also find that the premium did not work with 5.4?
