Google Voice bug with 5.4

Didn't see a bug thread so posting this here. Just upgraded tonight from 5.2, complete clean install. Google voice complained that it couldn't automatically set up on the phone. Basically it can't tell who the carrier is and tell me how to forward the phone from verizon for voicemail. Not an issue for me because it's already been forwarded for months, but anyone wanting to try it out will have to go manually search for it.

What does your carrier text show in the pulldown, and what does it show in the 'about phone'?

Mine displayed this error too after full wipe. Dialing *71xxxxxxxxxx (w/ x being my phone number) still enabled forwarding. It was set as the default Simply Stunning carrier text in the notification pulldown, so I wasn't able to test if the change to verizon wireless would rectify the problem.

im on D1 and google voice works fine for me. it has a couple settings that could be easily overlooked after a wipe

1. you have to dial your voicemail number *717-###-#### to make phone recognize your using google voice for VoiceMail instead of regular verizon

2. homescreen menu > settings> call settings> voicemail service is set to google voice not 'my carrier'

im on D1 and google voice works fine for me. it has a couple settings that could be easily overlooked after a wipe

1. you have to dial your voicemail number *717-###-#### to make phone recognize your using google voice for VoiceMail instead of regular verizon

2. homescreen menu > settings> call settings> voicemail service is set to google voice not 'my carrier'

Yeah mine is working fine because it was already forwarded, and you're still able to set the voicemail service to google voice, the app just can't give you carrier specific info on how to forward your voicemail to google (the step 1 you have above).

Chevy, it shows Verizon Wireless on the lockscreen, pulldown, and the "about phone" "Network" section.

Having the same issue. Pulldown says verizon wireless as does the about phone section. Still having the issue with no verizon tab in the market as well. 99% certain the issues are related.

I've had the carrier specific info issue on several different ROMs for the past 3 months. I always thought it was because I flashed my phone to Cricket though. Maybe it's an issue with GB?
