    Disable lock screen tweak

I really like not having a lock screen and was happy to see it as a standard feature in the new rom under settings/CyanogenMod settings/Tablet tweaks. On a down side (And not sure why the change), when you select this option, the volume rocker will now wake the phone as well. For me, I hit those buttons way too often by mistake.

However, I found that you can disable this by editing the system/usr/keylayout/sholes-keypad.kl. Removing the word WAKE on the VOLUME_UP and VOLUME_DOWN lines. Reboot to see the effect.

ChevyNo1: Possible that this could be set standard in your rom?

Noticed this as well. Thanks for the fix!

I've since gone back to a Froyo based rom and am greatly annoyed by the lockscreen again..

I tried doing that...and still no luck Disabling lockscreen results in volume keys waking up the device.

Oh, well... Guess I'll have to use Widget Locker still...

So you edited the system/usr/keylayout/sholes-keypad.kl and removed the word WAKE on the VOLUME_UP and VOLUME_DOWN lines? If you did, did you reboot so it can take effect?

Yup to all of the above...even checked the file after reboot to see if the changes were undone but nope, the line where WAKE once was is now empty... Or maybe something like the other ones (Wake depressed or something like that, I believe) should be replacing WAKE?

I'm on Droid concepts froyo and there is an option to add lock/unlock to the galaxy widget. I've used no lock with varying results but since I've encorporated it into the widget last week its unlocked 100% of the time and I'm very happy!! I don't need "no lock" now

I've always wondered, what is the advantage to disabling the lockscreen?

Without screen lock, there will occur many inconveniences.

+1 on the many annoying inconveniences without the lock screen. It takes one swipe, lazy?

I've been running the no lockscreen since I started with 5.4 and I had no idea the volume rocker unlocks it.

I went ahead and deleted the wake, like you said and rebooted and it works fine. Thanks.

I live no lockscreen. Phone seems to wake-up quicker without.
