    I have already tweaked those settings in 5.2 - however, most of the tweaking gain in my rom is from my custom task killer ...

    Here is the param file that anyone can modify to their liking, I have two different sets I've played with. I had used these settings back in Froyo also - but they seem to have a better effect in GB where they are more needed:

    cat /system/xbin/lowmem
    #!/system/bin/sh

    params="1536,2560,5120,6144,7168,7168"
    params="1536,2048,4096,10240,12800,15360"

    echo "$params" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree

    Thanks. So using those settings won't do anything to this rom?

    Using Pete's settings? Maybe - maybe not. I have not looked to see what #'s he is using, nor have I tested them ... you can always try them and see if it makes a difference!

    The link i posted has what he wanted people to test. He wanted us to use an application to change it.

    So I am not sure what you are asking - you can use the #'s he posted, replace the #'s in the file I provide in my ROM to test them - I have no idea what 'application' he is talking about, but I suspect it is only in his ROM. With mine you can edit using a text editor on the device, or you can use adb to pull/edit/push.

    We are both tweaking the same 'settings' - just possibly using different #'s for them.

    The app that Pete suggested using accomplishes the same exact thing that editing the text file Chevy pointed out does. Just replace the numbers that Pete was using with the ones Chevy has, reboot the phone, and then judge on if you see any improvement or not. You could also use the app as well. It provides a grqphical interface and makes editing the values more user friendly, but it doesn't do anything more (or less) than manually editing the file does.
