    Email process

So I have commented out com.android.email in csm.lst. From time to time my email process gets killed though and then the only way to get it back seems to reboot.

Any other way to "restart" email? I launch it, and do a manual refresh, but I don't pull down email even when I know I have some.

Having the same issue. I use the email app a lot because it's a work phone, and I get my work email through it. I've had people suggest using Auto Memory Manager from the market, and use the keep alive feature on the email app, but that doesn't work either. Something still kills it.

Same here on the phone / email bit. Working in IT = email alllll day long. I have to be able to depend on getting emails on my phone. I've had this issue on all GB roms I've tried. Only ones I haven't tried are UD and Liquid's at this point.

Maybe I have to go back to Froyo. =\

5.2 will have the option to lock in 3 apps of your own choosing to avoid being killed - hold out for that!

I am hoping soon (next couple of days at the latest). Just trying to see if I can get this 5% battery increment working - word is that UD has it - but I'm not so sure - I think the D1 has a hardware limitation.

Also - by commenting out the email app in csm.lst - all you do is prevent the system from killing it in the first 60 seconds (DELAY * LOOP). After that everything in that list is ignored - it is only used at bootup.

The system will still actively kill processes after that time ... and obviously it was killing email because it is not protected in any way. But as mentioned - 5.2 will let you add email to the 'save list' for as long as the phone is running.
