Release notes for SS 4.96 (this is NOT Gingerbread .. that is in the works and is 5.0):
NOTES:
IF you run another launcher - DELETE Launcher2 - if you don't it will take up resources (do this by deleting Launcher2 from within ChevyNo1Tools)
I suggest not wiping and just installing over what you have now. If you have any issues - wipe and re-install. Before you do - run a backup - then wipe - then install - then restore.
IF you select Chevyno1Tools as the default for the menu key by mistake - open Settings from the app, drawer, manage apps, click ChevyNo1Tools and click 'Clear Defaults'.
1. Based on 2.2.1 source code (aka FRG83)
2. Data throttling 'hack' (see other posts) is included
3. Ability to disable phone activating when hard keyboard is opened
4. 'Odd' issues with 4.95 should be resolved
5. bkapps/rstapps now can restore ALL settings, INCLUDING desktop widgets!
6. Issues with Corporate Email fixed
7. Updated in Rom Manager
8. In recovery the date will say 1/14 - that was my original release date and did not get switched to 1/17
9. I know this is not a LOT since the last release - but given my extremely short amount of time to dedicate here - it's the best I can do. Working hard on Gingerbread, aka SS 5.0!!

01-17-2011 11:45 AMFor anyone that gets the blank/black screen after the bootanimation, and you know the phone is running ... try this (will attempt to fix this in next release):
Also, for those that are getting an FC on wired tether .. that should not have been included in the ROM.I flashed back to 4.9(still no wipe), opened chevyno1 tools and turned off the EL brightness checkbox. I then flashed 4.96 again(no wipe) and it worked fine
The fix is to use a tool such as RootExplorer or TitaniumBackup to DELETE the file from /system/app. Then reinstall from the market, and you should be good to go.Last edited by ChevyNo1; 01-18-2011 at 09:13 PM.
