Desktop charger back light

Finally got my desktop charger. Ordered it from Verizon, even tho it said it was on back order , they still let me purchase it then it just showed up one day. Anyways, I'm trying to figure out how to make the back light turn off when it's charging. I have a terrible time falling asleep at night and need it pitch black. Is there a way to make it shut off when on the charger or at least make it dimmer? I would even be interested in a app that would come up when the phone is on the charger that allows me to adjust the settings.

If you set your backlight to auto-brightness, it will give you an icon in the bottom left corner (when in cradle mode) that has an arrow pointing down. Tap it and the screen dims, tap again and it brightens.

When you want your Commando to go completely dark on the cradle, here is what you do, go to running services, find 'Desk Cradle' app and force stop. Go to your home screen, what will happen now, it will go dark when the screen times out...to get your screen to light up, just press any hard key like you normally would do.
