My e-mail has been locked in to the same place in time on my Commando for 24 hours now. It shows an error message at top stating "Unable to open connection to server." What could cause this and how is it fixed?

I use msn.com.
Well, I would first go to settings from a home screen then select Applications/Manage Applications/All/email app and select the button to Force Stop it. Then open the app and see if it now connects to the email server.
Also you might consider using the Gmail app for all your email accounts: Using Gmail as your own personal push mail server | Android Central I've been doing this for almost two years now and love it. It saves on battery power, as the emails are pushed to your phone so the phone doesn't have to poll on a regular schedule, and on two of my pop3 accounts I actually get my mail quicker via google.
Good luck.

Okay, I tried to do the Force Stop procedure on th ee-mail application. It had no effect on the e-mail app; it still will not connect to a server. Al other functions like the browser, google maps, text message, etc. all seem to be working fine. It's only my e-mail that isn't functioning.
Well, the next thing I would try is to get one of the 3rd party email apps from the Market and try that. The two most popular are probably K-9 and MailDroid. If one of those works then you know there is a real problem with your email app rather with your server/server settings.

My g-mail is opening. But, I don't really use that account...
