Rooting the Casio Commando (2.3.3)!!

Hey all, new to the forum here. But I have a Commando back from when they released it, and its Android version is 2.2.1. Should I upgrade it to 2.3.3 and then root it, or should I keep 2.2.1 and just root that?? The phone is a M030 IIRC. Thanks

my roommate's C771 is on build M120. Can you confirm that there is not a way to root this phone now? SuperOneClick hangs at step #2.

Can i roll his phone back? tia.
