Visual Voicemail problem

Hi all, i manage all the cell phones for my company and I recently replaced a broken Droid2 with a Commando for one of our hill managers.
The big issue is the play stop and other buttons for the app do not render most of the time and he cannot get out of the app when it does this. I found if I have Advanced Task Killer running I can use it to kill the app and try again. After experimenting I found if I open the camera or some other app I can sometimes get it to render the GUI properly. I did call VZW CS and they had me wipe the data for VVM but that only fixed it for a day.
Anyone else having this issue or with other apps GUI not rendering correctly?

I have seen thus once or twice, did you try to rotate the phone? Sometimes this helps.

I think he's saying that he should use Google Voice as his Visual Voicemail Service. I do, and while voice transcription isn't perfect, it's pretty darn good, and unlike Verizon's Visual Voicemail service, it's free.

Thanks, I looked at the options for GV and didn't see that it would replace his VM service. I will hold off on that one.

OK I found what causes this issue, and it isn't just VVM that it happens with, sometimes it's the dialer or just any other app that has buttons.

Looking at the screen there is a sensor in the upper right middle corner. Make sure it isn't blocked at all and has a fair amount of light hitting it and the issue will go away. If anyone knows how to adjust this to work better in low light conditions please post the answer here.
