Camera not zooming

Hi all, I love this phone, just having problems with the camera. On the side of the screen there is a little arrow you can press, and it brings up an option to "zoom" and it seems stuck on "1x". There is a section to slide the thing for zooming but it isn't moving at all. Any help?

you have to change the quality - it won't zoom at 5M. unfortunately, even at lowest quality (1M) it doesn't really zoom much.

This was great info. I'm glad I wasn't going crazy on this no-zoom issue. I have to say, the "zoom" function does leave A LOT to be desired, once you find out how to use it.

Yeah the zoom is kinda lame. I do better just taking the shot closer to the subject.

I had the same problem until I found out that the function doesn't zoom on 5meg setting. I went to Downloads / Manuals : Support | NEC CASIO Mobile Communications, Ltd. and down loaded the manual that Verizon didn't send with the phone (page 158):


Taking a picture
1. Touch the Launcher icon on the Home screen.
The Launcher opens.
2. Touch the Camera icon .
Camera opens, ready to take a picture.
3. You can adjust your white balance, flash, and other settings, or
leave them on automatic.
The preview image changes as you change the settings.
For instructions on how to change Camera settings, see “Changing
Camera settings” on page 160.


4. Frame your subject on screen.
Touch the arrow icon , then touch the current zoom level to
display the slider. You can drag the slider to change the zoom level.
You can also zoom all the way in or out by double-tapping the screen.
(You cannot zoom in or out a picture if its size is 5M.)


5. Press the Camera key S all the way or touch the Shutter icon
on the screen.
The camera focuses on the subject. When the subject is in focus,
the focus indicator in the center of the screen turns green and the
camera takes a picture.
The picture you just took is displayed for a moment, and then it is
displayed as a thumbnail.
6. Touch the thumbnail to view, share, and work with your pictures in
Gallery
