    Stop apps from auto restoring.

I've been liking the fact that all (or usually most at least) of my apps would get restored automatically after flashing a new ROM and wiping my data..

However now I have quite a few apps I dont really use and every time I wipe they all come back..

Is there a way to get this to not happen?

where are the apps restoring from? im guessing they must be linked to my google acct.?

When you get to the "welcome to Android" screen, don't tap the android. Instead, tap the 4 corners of the screen in the following sequence: top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left. This will take you to the home screen. Then go in and add your Google account from the settings function, and your apps will not be restored automatically.

I kid you not! It works in every ROM I've ever used. I've hated the auto-restore function from the very beginning (control freak). Enjoy!

They are coming from your backup apk file on your memory card. Erase backup of apps off your memory card, Astro backups and other backups, it took me all day to stop all of the old apps from loading. Also on Pete's page it has instructions.

Another thing you can do is to just open the market first thing after your phone boots up. This stops the auto-restore as well.
