Ok, I have to ask... is ANYONE actually able to see the screen at brightness 2? LOL.. I thought I had good eyes, but, wow, I can't see anything!
I used GirLuvDroid's post to change it to 10... I didn't feel like going back and forth trying the other settings in between 2 and 10 though since it requires swapping the framework-res.apk in and out...
EDIT: Just read the rest of this thread.. I didn't let the patcher push the file to my phone either... I didn't use RootExplorer either, I went the old fashioned way and used command line. When I copied in the APK, Maps and something else crashed, I forget what, but I just force closed them. When I went to remount /system it became busy (and BusyBox doesn't have the lsof command so I couldn't see what had the lock on it) so it wouldn't let me remount as read-only afterwards. I just entered reboot on the command line as root and the phone rebooted, re-mounted as read-only. I lost all of my account login information (Contacts, Facebook), however that was just a matter of re-entering/synchronizing and it was back in business. I've rebooted a couple times to make sure it stuck and it looks like it's working fine for me now.

If you do it manually from your themed framework, it will keep it. However you will have to sign back into all of your Google Accounts.

Transformers Season 1 Intro Boot Animation
I restored the stock brightness values because I was unhappy with the super-dim ones in 0.5. Now, I am not happy with the stock brightness - I forgot how bright it stayed in the dark.
Is it possible for someone to make a zip file to flash with a brightness minimum somewhere in the middle of the mod and the stock values?
