Sorry for the stupid question

Sorry guys but I havent been on the forums much lately. Trying to lay low until Im up for an upgrade, the anticipation is killing me. My question is if I go into recovery mode and wipe everything what exactly do I lose? Just all my texts and stuff or am I gonna lose programs? I ask because it seems like my phone is starting to run slower and slower and like I said before Im just trying to make it to late November to upgrade

you will lose everything besides the apps that come on your phone. so you lose, texts, settings, and apps you downloaded from the market.

I have discovered that "Cachemate" helps a lot when my phone is running slow. Its an app from the market that clears caches and other crap including market history. You of course must have root acess and use at your own risk. Go through the settings and tweak the level of "cleaning" you want done...
