I was looking through Pete's files and I'm not sure what to get. I'm looking for 2.2 with root access. What do you recommend and how would I install it? Do I use sprecovery or the windows flashing program?

No, I've had a rom before but it was buggy. I put 2.1 stock back on it. I don't know where the rooting comes into play. I was told my previous rom was already rooted
There is only 1 "stock" 2.2 and the only way you can get it without losing root is from page 6 on the Froyo Circus thread. Look for Jrummy's post.
You need to root first and then install that if you want a rooted "stock" 2.2.
