I installed Sapphire 1.0 yesterday and it's very very fast with 1ghz low voltage installed with the ROM. I do miss the BB Toolkit however, otherwise no complaints at all so far. My quadrant score is 608, but this thing is flying.

I've tried CM6 also, but went right back to BB v.04. Very much looking fwd to 05.

I suggest trying UD5.0.1. Amazing for my phone. Actually it i working just a bit smoother than BB0.4 (i had a couple of random reboots with BB...yes of course I wiped) though I will install BB0.5 when it comes out.

The options that UD 5.0.1 has are amazing. You could see if it works for you. Otherwise you are probably doing really well with BB0.4 so why the anxiety? Settle down. It will be okay.

I'd rather wait longer for a quality rom then run one that was rushed to be released.

    just sayin'

For those losing their minds and pateints.

It is very simple..... Stop begging cause he will not put it out any faster, and pick a good base rom and start doing your own customizing. If you have time to check this forum everyday 10-20 times a day, then you have time to read and learn to build your own rom. Release it if you want, when you want. Become the next Pete. Just my own opinion.

+1, it's not like everyone here is paying Pete a salary to get a job done. I'm very happy with BB 0.4 so I can wait for the next release.

Heres why (Quoted from CVPCS wiki):
    Stagefright vs Opencore

In Sapphire 1.0.0, I have disabled the stagefright media player and defaulted back to opencore. This was done because there were reports that opencore produced better quality audio on several applications that stream media over the internet.
Sadly, opencore also takes more time to decode H.264 video, an item that Quadrant uses to determine its score. Thus, the score suffers dramatically due to the use of opencore over stagefright. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS LOW QUADRANT SCORE DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE PHONE RUNS POORLY. OPENCORE vs STAGEFRIGHT WILL ONLY AFFECT MULTIMEDIA PLAYBACK, NOT OVERALL PHONE PERFORMANCE. IT IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHY A BENCHMARK SCORE SHOULD NOT BE THE END ALL AND BE ALL OF HOW FAST YOUR DEVICE IS.

To the OP and everybody else whining, it's pretty ungrateful to complain about a developer who is putting their own personal time into something they are giving you FOR FREE (with hopes you donate). Geeze, in all honesty, you all sound like this:

Yeah upgrade to sapphire to keep yourself busy, but I'll wager you'll come back to bb.still a good exercise so you are more versed for forum conversations. I did the stock 2.2 upgrade for that very reason today.

Edit: Tried Sapphire, but I remembered that I forgot to make a backup right as I was wiping. When it booted up, it didn't let me sign in with a google account and market didn't exist. The notification text was messed up too, so I decided to get BB.4 back on here and was lucky to find that there was a recovery on Clockwork that I don't remember ever making last night. So TL;DR, it took me an hour to go around in a circle.
In the directions for Sapphire 1.0 it states that after you load the rom, you need to load the gapps.zip. That places all the Google apps, including Market, that you need.

Also, the notification texts are fully customizable in the Settings Menu.

    Lol, x2.

All of Pete's releases are gold, worked with both of my Droids without a hitch. I'll let him take his time, and then I'll donate to him and get him a beer for all the efforts.

My Droid runs AWESOME! BB 0.4 + P3droid LV 250-600 = Great battery life and all the speed I need.
Still using a D1, thanks to Bugless Beast!
