Installed the updated brightness apk. It does set the brightness noticeably lower, but whenever the screen turns off, the brightness resets to what it was before. Anyone else having this problem?

That's odd, I'm running .4 and after setting retain preferences, it worked for me.

I love the brightness.apk at night, but during the day when I set my brightness to Auto, it will go Auto for a few minutes and then all of a sudden it kicks in the low brightness again.
I tried setting the number higher for the low brightness but that didn't seem to help so I had to uninstall it.
If there's a fix for this please let me know.
Thanks

Hacku. Turn off retain settings when you are not using it. It will override the phones brightness settings if it is turned on...

Get the brightness patch from Xultimate. It works with froyo (did for me) and your brightness can go to 2, which is barely lit at all.
Also, sapphires got the choices built in : )
