Android IM lost forever?

Not sure if this is a BB thing, or if it left in FROYO, but what happened to Android IM? It seemed to work alright for me, got used to using it, and now I notice it missing and can't seem to find it anywhere.

If anything, is there a better client for AIM? thats really all I use it for, and I cant seem to find a straight answer to which is the best.

I liked this im client and it was the only ive used for AIM mostly due to its simplicity. I dug the apk out of the BB 1.1 files and it installs and opens but FC's everytime I try to sign in (currently on BB 0.3). Here is a link to the apk if anyone cares to try to fix it. I'm probly going to try meebo and see how that is.

So I'm on BB .4 now & have not had a FC yet.. but now meebo is the only app that FC's constantly now.. any ideas??

I got the Im apk (I took it from the sapphire trom for froyo)
but no way to make it work (at least not on the Moto Droid on Verizon)
Seems that IM is an app that belongs to t-mobile, so I guess it wont work on any other network)

Same here, I've tried pretty much every client, and I've come back and stuck with eBuddy.
