Same...didn't have this problem pre-Froyo. Have also tried multiple Kernels (and ROMs - i was fishing for a solution). Connects to my home network fine when I disable security. Once I enable WPA/WPA2 it scans, obtains address, drops, rescans, etc...

EDIT: OK...beats me - so, I disabled security and was able to connect. I re-enabled security (again) and just for kicks tried to connect again with my droid and am now connecting fine.

to all having wifi problems with .2.1

please only use chevy#1's newest kernals, they are the only ones i would call "wifi certified" lol

next, do not use a theme at all, just leave it stock and try with encryption, i had a few themes give me wifi trouble

im running over encryption just fine with
    Rom: bb .2.1
    kernel: chevy's ulv 1.25 ghz
    theme: nextheme 1.0.5.2

So I tried this... since his most recent update and no go. I tried before the updates on the 16th... so i am glad you pointed the newest ones out. :-D I am comparing chevy vs p3 battery life.

But ya... it didnt work. Granted I didnt wipe 3 times and clean install. It was an update over my current install.

I am going to a cruise to mexico this weekend so I dont plan on doing any major updates or clean installs (unless pete releases and updates :-D)

Anyone else do a clean install and see any differences?

anyone else have this happen to them

And I thought it was just me... I can basically connect to any wireless gateway and crash it (and all connections to it) in about 4 or 5 minutes. During the first 4 or 5 minutes, everything works fine. Then my phone says it is still connected, but it and any pc connected to the gateway looses their internet connection until the gateway is reset.

I've tried this on linksys gateways, netgear gateways and trendnet gateways... pretty standard setups, all have WPA enabled, DHCP on both WAN and LAN. Nothing out of the ordinary.

It almost seems like the gateway wants to start routing through the phone but I can't tell if the routing tables are getting hosed casue I can't connect to the gateway once the "lock-up" happens... (oh both wireless and wired connections get hosed).

If anyone gets this figured out, please let me know... It's both annoying and sometimes fun

    Me TOO Me TOO!!!!

I never had any WiFi issues but since upgrading to Froyo I can NOT connect to my home network with the security of WPA/ WPA2. I get the same dissabled error that was mentioned earlier. But I too can connect to open WiFi connections.

I started with the original Froyo port on the 6th with the Wifi "fixed" kernels. Then I tried JRummy and Chevy's ROMs/ Kernels. Also i tried Pete's 1ghz kernel and 900 kernels.

When I installed the original Froyo and Chevy and JRummy's custom ROMs I installed them clean, deleting all data and cache.

    Currently i am running:
    Kernel: 2.6.32.9-P3Droids pierce
    Build Number: voles-userbug 2.2 FRFxx 33333 test-keys
Router: Linksys bought about 1year ago

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! And I will try the kernels mentioned in the above posted too.

Well, I have pretty good wifi at times, but my signal bounces between weak and good/excellent. Wifi in status bar indicates weak signal 95% of the time. In settings, I can visibly watch the wifi signal bounce between weak and good/excellent.

Other signals I detect are always poor/weak. Funny thing, my computer shows less available networks but some have good/excellent signals.

Kernel: Chevy 1.2 ulv (don't matter, tried multiple kernels on multiple ROMs all with same issue, super clean install)
Router: Netgear, @ 6 months old
    Encryption: WPA2 with MAC filtering

And for what it's worth, I seem to be getting about half the wifi speed I used to, probably because of the constant variance in signal strength, which I assume include brief spurts of virtually no signal (but it doesn't seem to be constantly re-scanning, so it's rarely, if ever, completely losing a connection).

I've tried turning off MAC filtering with no improvement.

Just following up that this is nearly identical to my case, but I get no data transfer at all

I'm getting by with the intermittent weak/strong signal. Hoping it will be fixed with the source FRF83 (have not tried the new roms out there). That seems to be the only real issue I'm having.

I suppose I'd be fine going to WEP and using MAC filtering, but like I said I'll wait and see if it works with the final Froyo. Mainly, I'm just too lazy to switch to WEP and then go reset passwords to PS3, laptop and Droid. Connecting my PS3 to wireless was not the easiest thing in the world for me. But I live in an apartment complex, do online banking and other sensitive stuff, and there's just no way I'm taking my router off paranoid mode.
