The script runs at boot by default, nothing more for you to do.

I'm also curious, does Pete's script essentially run like SetCPU with ondemand for the given speed? It sounds and looks like it's smarter than that, but I'd love to know more detail about it.
I'd like to hear what pete says about this to be honest. In the OP it says eliminates the need for setCPU. If the pete script is not what eliminates the need for setCPU, then what does? I don't see anything anywhere in this ROM that does anything as far as overclocking, except the pete script. so that being said, if it's only the pete script that "eliminates" the need, then it's apparent that it doesn't "eliminate" the need. All the script does is set a max kernel speed and a min kernel speed (and then of course kill some tasks, once..at boot). The need, at least for me, of setCPU is profiles and obviously the pete script nor the ROM provides that capability. Sure, Pete says "I'll send you my droid if yours melts from the heat" but if you can have a cool phone, why wouldn't you want it? As I mentioned, when I ran the ROM with just the script I was getting temps in the 120s - 140s and idling at around 85-90 (yea yeah I know, our chip is rated for this haha), but once I installed setCPU I do not go above 105 and my phone is cool as all hell (as low as 65 degrees). The ROM is the best out there, no doubt, but I don't agree that 4 lines in the pete script are what make it that way.
It's not a question of thinking we know better than the devs about what's going on to make the ROM better, it's clearly examining what's going on and looking at the files, and drawing conclusions from it. Maybe I missed elsewhere in the ROM in some file somewhere that "eliminates" the need for setCPU but the pete script does not. And I think I've examined the ROM pretty well. I don't see anything else that indicates that overclock speed is being used/affected/manipulated other than the pete script. I'd much rather have my phone running at 105 degrees when I'm using pandora and navigation, then 135 no matter what the chip is rated at and that's why I would "need" setCPU. Obviously the phone has its own built in failsafe, but there's no need to purposely push a phone like that, especially when you don't have to.
The phones only been out for 6 months and that is not anywhere near enough time to figure out what kind of affect overclocking does. But if your pushing your phone to 145 degrees every single day, I find it hard to believe that there's not some wear and tear going on there. I guess it's a never ending debate haha, but I really would like pete to define how this ROM "eliminates the need for setCPU". For me, it doesn't. I like my profiles, and I like my phone at 105 degrees haha.
Oh and sorry for the wall of text haha
Before BB V1.0 all users wanting to overclock on any ROM needed to install an app to do so (those that did not know the commands). Now my kernels overclock themselves using the pete script. So having a cpu app is no longer a "must have" it is now just optional. It's as simple as that.
