    stock mms apk

So I used a script to get rid of the stock messaging program. Since doing so I cannot receive mms thsough handcent only SMS. After searching the forums I see I'm not the only one with this problem. However I'm having problems finding the stock mms apk and then installing it. If someone could walk me through it i would greatly appreciate it.

You can get out of Pete's V1FIXES.zip file. Then just push it to the phone.

I will attempt to explain, hopefully I am right (it is early so my mind is hazy). I woudl use ADB while in recovery, but I am assuming you don't know how to do that yet. Here is another option. Get the Mms.apk file and place it on your SD Card - Then while in Root Explorer (great app if you dont have it get it) navigate to the SD Card and long press on the APK, select copy - Now navigate to the system/app folder and hit Paste on the bottom of the screen - now long press on the APK file and select Permissions. Set them like this

    XXO
    XXO
    XXO

Then exit and reboot, then tell us what ya got... Good luck and next time remember to KEEP THAT MMS APP!!! Hah.
