GPA19 Slow homescreen loads when closing / minimizing apps

I've noticed this before i did the whole unroot flash to stock then re root deal described in this section, but it's still happening even after I re rooted my og droid. I'm wondering if it has something to do with having too many widgets on your homescreens.

I was just wondering if anybody else was experiencing anything similar to this.

I just did a fresh flash of GPA19 with full reset. Before this I was on Liquid 3.0 and before that a slew of GPA builds. The GPA builds all seem to have a significant lag on my phone. Slow to load apps, laggy homescreen and especially laggy/buggy google maps and market.

I think I'm going to try a different kernel first and then maybe flash back to Liquid.

Try a different kernel. I'm not sure why Pete's kernel is so slow, but it is.

So to flash a kernel do you just flash it over your current kernel / rom i guess? Never done it before, and what are some solid kernels that you guys recommend?

I was having the same problem until I ran the V6 SuperCharger script and Swapper 2. I also ran SD Maid to free up more memory and now it is pretty quick.

What settings did you run the SuperCharger script with? I'm kind of unfamiliar with how it all works.

I was using the Supercharger script as well and after a few days it would bog down. I ended up just uisng the Hard To Kill Launcher setting.

To flash a new kernel you just flash it over your current rom. I'm running a chevyno1 kernel, it was the only one I found that didn't lag anywhere. Pete's lagged terribly on the homescreen and opening apps, but worked great in the camera. Another kernel I tried was useless in the camera and had bad auto backlight settings (really dim at random).

I think I selected 2 for scrolling speed, answered a couple of yes or no questions yes (if I remember correctly) and then a 6 for the 1-30 option. I highly recommend you investigate it more before running it. There was a tutorial online someplace.

I did the bulletproof launcher option an then did the general settings 3 or something like that. If you run it again does that setting overwrite the previous one you did or does they run on top of each other?
