Alright I'm givin it a go...
Just finished the de-root and re-root process, went so much faster than the first time!
The guides were great. Thanks
Edit: For some reason upon booting up the device after rooting I had to reactivate the device. Thought that was weird since I saw somebody else mention it earlier in the thread.

I've got a silly question... why use 22D sbf as opposed to 83G?
Oops... missed the earlier post. Sorry!

I was having issue like this but they weren't that frequent. Mostly just lag and stuttering. This fixed it so far! Here's to keeping my og droid kicking until the galaxy nexus is around.

Just wanted to report back... I did the whole process over again this time installing 22D first, allowed the two OTA updates to get me to 83G and then got root access. Finished it off with Titantium Pro to remove some of the pre-installed apps that come with the Droid and it's been running better then ever.
Just want to say thanks again to mwahlquist!
Hey thanks guys, I am glad this is working so well for everyone. For an early taste of ICS, check out GPA18 with the ICS Theme. This is more than a theme, but less than a ROM... if you know what I mean. functioning ICS launcher apk and such.
It does have some issues, but i am daily driving it now and nothing I can't live with.... You should see people's eyes pop when they see undeniably ICS features on my og droid... hehehe.
For whatever reason, the dev for the theme posted here, but is no longer going to manage it... so it needs to be updated to GPA19 by someone. I don't have the time right now to even attempt to manage it with work and school and family. It's up for grabs for anyone that wants a project... you have a good base to work from and a LOT of people will want to test for you, myself included!
[Release] ICS for GPA18
Thanks for the tip, my D1 was having horrible issues with skipping on bluetooth audio. Anytime I'd start playing something, it would skip anywhere from 6 to 24 times before the audio would settle down and play correctly. Anytime I stopped and started playback, same issue. I sbf'd it last night, re-rooted and re-installed a rom and apps clean, no more issues.
I too thought that my Droid was crashing and burning - lo and behold, there are gents out there like you who have such helpful tips. After much hassle with RSD Lite I finally was able to SBF back to stock with RSD 5.5, re-root and re-rom and now my phone feels like it used to...cheers to you, friend.
I am simply amazed by the results of doing this! Thank you a million times
My Droid is reborn!
