    Droidlife Story on Netflix

    Droid 1 - GPA16 / 0.3 kernel 1.2gHz
Runs 132F Might try lowering CPU speed to lower temp. Lowered CPU to 800Hz - works fine. Runs ~113F.
Eats the battery for lunch. Recommend keeping Droid plugged into power while watching Netflix streaming.
    AMAZING QUALITY!!!!! Perfect streaming!!!!!!!!!!!

    Netflix on Droid1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right!! Didn't think Netflix ran on Droid. Droidlife mentioned its app works with Bionic - so I said why not try it as well?

    Movie was flawless at 800mHz
    CPU Temp ran to 161F

    How hot is too hot?

Official specs - Droid ARM Cortex A8 processor

    operating temperature:
    0C to 90C (194F) (standard applications)
    40c to 105C (extreme applications)

Droid's battery rated at 60C (140F) - battery will be toast before the CPU.

It's not recommended to go above 140. The chip can take it, but all the stuff around it, including the battery, cannot.

The CPU can handle up to 170F but the mother board holding it and the components around it are only rated to around 154F. So staying below both will help you stay happy with a working Droid.
    Source.

A problem I've found when trying to prevent overheating via SetCPU profiles is the SetCPU process getting killed when running memory intense apps. So you can't rely on it completely to bump your speeds down when your droid gets too hot.

You should consider clocking down, or risk bricking an un-brickable phone.

Just wondering.... why does everyone post about netflix working? It shouldn't be a surprise as the droid is on the list of officially supported devices should it?

Didn't surprise me at all. I have know it works for a few days now. It was one of the first apps I tested with GPA16. Didn't think it had enough "wow factor" to post about. It was available on the market, I downloaded it, it worked. No surprises.
