Installing gpa16

I find this way is the best for installing the [stable] vers of GPA16

Make sure you go to Peter Alfonso and download the zip for the ROM.
and put it on your SD card. (its his most recent post on there.)

then go to this link for the hidden feature in the rom, and download and put on the root of your SD card. Peter Alfonso Releases GPA16 (GB 2.3.4) For The DROID – And We Have The Hidden File - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Boot into recovery and take these steps. assuming you are using Clockworkmod recovery.

1. Wipe data
2. wipe cache
3. wipe data
4. wipe cache
5. wipe data
6. wipe cache.

7. wipe dalvik cache
8. reboot recovery

9. install gpa16.
10. install hidden feature download from Droid life.

[optional] 11. install different kernel.

reboot system.

Once you have signed into google and everything is synced and installed, go to CPU settings, and make the Gov "Interactive" and max cpu 800. [assuming you are using the stock kernel]

Click set on boot, then reboot your phone.

Then youre done.

Thanks for the post, d/l the hidden zip now and than will be installing. But I ask, any recommendation on kernals?

Right now I run my phone with Chevy's lowV 800mhz kernal, will this work? Or should I just stick with the stock, since its 800 as well?

Any gingerbread kernel should work. I haven't tested other kernels. I might tonight.

I'm attempting to install this now. it was a bone stock factory froyo install. did the wipe data/cache 3 times, wiping the dalvik cache, then installed the rom and hidden feature. that didn't work so i tried installing the lv 800mhz v3 kernel and that doesn't seem to help either. it's just sitting on the M logo and not doing anything. anyone have any suggestions? i've let it sit for about 10 minutes on the M logo just to make sure it's really stuck.

I installed right over BB6.2.1. It's working really good right now.

Also I always reboot into rom manager after each wipe. I do the full deal each time. Wipe data cash 3 times. Boot,system,data,cache,sdext. Also run stock froyo before I installed. Wiped everything as posted above. Then installed. Running perfect. Only problem which is posted several times is the ring notification - light. But just randomly happens. That's all that is wrong with this rom. Everything else is perfect.

Wipe SD card???? Never heard of this if he wiped SD card, would he lose the rom and everything else that is saved on the ad card?
