I just learned that the latest Sourcery ROM is based on Froyo 2.2.2. I'll have to go check that out when I'm back home from vacation.

I believe Droid Concepts is 2.2.2 as well. Nice looking ROM. Beta 9 is the newest and 10 will be released shortly according to Devs.

Well, it's been awhile but... I've been living with Sourcery 2.2 for a day now and I've been beating on it pretty hard. No issues that I haven't already had with stock, unrooted Froyo (multitasking on the D1 is problematic due to the low physical memory).

But, it's a ROM that is nearly as customizable as CyanogenMod, but NO lockups, NO random reboots, the camera works, I don't have to toggle "airplane mode" after a phone call, I don't drop WiFi after a phone call, I can answer the phone with the ringing continuing on, etc. etc. etc.

Until GB gets "baked" a little better, I think I'm sticking with Sourcery 2.2. It's based on FroYo 2.2.2, and is about as good as it gets.

I second the Droid Concepts ROM. There are a few bugs on initial setup (i.e. you can't see the 3G and mobile signal icons without a patch), but it runs pretty slick. Sorcery is also a great ROM.

I've grown tired of force closes on GB ROMS so I'm back to Froyo.

Force Closes are only ONE of the litany of problems I've had with all of the GB ROMs I've tried. I outlined everything I've experienced above... and postings in the various forums here indicate I'm not the only one.
