Stock Messenger app apk?

Does anyone have a link and install instructions to a stock messenger apk that will work with GPA 14? I deleted mine and was running a third party, and after getting burned by third party garbage I'm ready to return to stock messenger, but I tibu'd it off the system. Now I'm stuck! Can't seem to find one.

Do you have a backup with the messaging app? Can just pull it off there.

Also its never good to remove the stock messaging app. all the 3rd party apps use it to function properly.

You can either flash the rom again without wiping, but that will bring back everything...

Or you can extract the mms.apk from the .zip file and move it to the system with a file manager that can do that (or terminal emulator or ADB, but I don't know much about em...)

Really? I never knew that deleting it would be harmful. I was using a third party, working fine for a while, and then all of a sudden I noticed that the last day and a half I had not received any texts...

I'd really like to get a hold of the cyanogen stock messenger. I'd prefer not to have redundant apps on my phone. But I couldn't get it to work at all. Immediate force close when pushed through terminal emulator.

Then just flash the ROM without wiping. Should get it back.

Yeah deleting the stock app means no mms work. Always just turn off notifications if your gonna use a different one.

You might be able to get the 2.2.6 version of Market offa Droid-Life as a stopgap.

But if ya really want the 2.3.4 version that comes with the ROM. just reflash it.

Here you go. This isn't an update.zip just unzip it and move it into your /system/app/ folder and change the permissions.

Thanks man! Is this the modded Mms.apk or the regular stock? I'd really like to find the stock modded one that you can have the black background and change the led notifications. The only was I could find though was a force close machine...
