    Uncapped data mod??

    Pete,
Any chance you're working with the 'Uncapped Data Mod' that others are? Looks promising, would be a nice addition.

You are right to be wary. There is much bullcrap. Be wary of me too, because I may be wrong. Make up your own mind after you evaluate all the evidence and the logic. - Mark Rippetoe

Interesting. So this mod allows you to send and receive data with no cap on speed? I didn't know VZW could slow you down.

Noone is really sure of 'what' the mod does but it's fairly consistent at providing higher speeds. Some people think it removes some 'cap' or 'throttle' that VZW imposes but I think it's doing more to the phone/radio than people are saying. If VZW is throttling (and I'm not saying they don't) I would think it would be done on their end (i.e. on their servers and/or their towers) not on the devices. I would not be surprise if this was actually effecting the phone and/or radio and ignoring some settings that throttle based on signal strength or battery power or something like that. I know from looking at eveyones screen shots that I have gotten those higher speeds w/o the mod but generally it's with full signal late at night (i.e. non-peak hours) and a high charge on the battery so.... guess we'll see. Either way it's promising.

I haven't found enough of a detailed and thorough explanation as to what this actually does to believe the hype.
